Battle of the Videos: Rihanna "Russian Roulette" VS. Chris Brown "Crawl"

This Friday saw the premiere of Chris Brown's new video "Crawl" on the The Wendy Williams Show and Rihanna's "Russian Roulette" music video later on 20/20. This dual premiere opened the flood gates for a music video duel: Who chronicled their post-assault heartbreak best in video form?

The "Russian Roulette" video is dark and gripping. The concept is more ambigious and adventurous which is a rare thing in mainstream music video-making and refreshing when we see it.

In "Crawl," it's snowing in LA either because hell has frozen over, pigs have flown or Chris Brown's heart is broken. He's walking around the City of Angels where he keeps running into the one that got away -- played by singer Cassie -- saddened by what's become of their love but positive that if they take it slow, what was lost could be regained.

Both videos do have their flaws, however. In "Russian Roulette," Rihanna sits across her crazy-eyed lover with a gun between them -- one gun. From what we've learned from period films isn't russian roulette played with two guns, fastest shot wins? [Ed. Note Wrong lethal game! But we think Rihanna is over acting a bit] "Crawl" then features some random shots of Chris Brown dancing in the desert...yeah. We'll just chalk these mishaps to artistic license gone awry.

So who did it better? We give it to RiRi's video for its depth in comparison to Chris Brown's posi-spin on love gone wrong.
