Disney buys MARVEL. Walt Disney Co. announced a deal this morning to buy Marvel Entertainment for about $4 billion. Marvel's characters include Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America and the Hulk.

(I hope they don't make it a musical lol I hope they know that MARVELcomics are Gorey.. not very good for kids to see...smh)

Having seen Nigo’s adoration with leather jackets throughout the year, we see another silhouette make its appearance, this time within Bape’s Fall/Winter Collection. The jacket, available in and brown, takes on a classic motoring style with silver accents, Bape detailing, and tonal camouflage interior lining. Both are now available via select A Bathing Ape flagship stores.

Iron Man Mark III Battle Damaged Version by Hot Toys

Taking over 6 months to develop and re-casting over 90% of the original pieces seen on the Iron Man toy releases of the past, the Iron Man Mark III Battle Damaged Version is the latest addition to the list of licensed figures by Hot Toys. The Battle Damaged aesthetic is a direct inspiration from the movie and is a highly detailed replication complete with fully articulated joints. Coming in at a 1/6 scale, stay tuned for more details on a release.

Futura x Nike Air Force 1

Following up on earlier previews we get a closer look into the latest footwear endeavors from legendary New York-based graffiti Futura. Utilizing the classic Air Force 1 silhouette, Futura offers a toned down grey upper paired with translucent outsoles with perforated detailing throughout. A release can be expected in January 2009 at select Nike retailers, including Footlocker

R.I.P DJ AM...

Adam Goldstein (DJ AM) was found dead at his New York City apartment at around 5:20 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2009. He was 36 years old. Friends called the police, who along with paramedics broke into the apartment and found Goldstein's body. Sources have speculated that the cause of death may have been accidental drug overdose. Drug paraphernalia (Crack Cocaine) was found in the apartment, but no signs of foul play. A rep for Goldstein released a statement: "Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein was found deceased this afternoon in his New York City apartment. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Out of respect for his family and loved ones, please respect their privacy at this time." (Damn... I'm terrified of 2009)

BBC/Ice Cream “Space Beach” Series

Pharrell’s BBC/Ice Cream brand is at it again. One of the earliest pieces of news we received in 2009 involved the attention-grabbing BBC/Ice Cream Waffle Lo. Whether looked favorably upon or not, eclectic releases like these have become commonplace within the highly renowned entertainer’s brand. For Fall/Winter of 2009, however, BBC/Ice Cream attempts to fly high while holding on to summer with its release of the “Space Beach” collection. Made up of hoodies, t-shirts, and even jewelry, this collection also includes a pair of Chukka sneakers in a predominantly navy/denim blue colorway with tan and white accents that all sit atop a completely white sole. Japanese retail stores expect an August 29th release date, so stay on top of your local BBC/Ice Cream retailer(s) in anticipation.

Infrared Air Jordan 6 (VI) Images – 2010 Retro

Those who are fortunate enough to own the Infrared Air Jordan 6 (VI) know how fresh it is to lace up their pair. Images of the 2010 ‘Infrareds’ have just surfaced, and most will be surprised at how clean the sneakers look. The shoes are highlighted by Chicago Bulls colors, and most clearly, an icey sole. The Infrared Jordan release date is still unknown, but rumored to be in 2010. The Air Jordan Spacejam release has been marked on most calendars for the holiday season, there is a chance that the Infrared 6 will drop in time for the 2009 holiday season as well. Brand Jordan has a tendency to release Black/Red colorways close to Christmas; with the most recent example being the 2008 Air Jordan 11/12 countdown pack, which originally scheduled to release after the holiday. Even though many sneakerheads claim that they hate Fusions, a lot of you were losing your minds when you got that sneak peek of the Varsity Red/Cement Air Jordan Force Fusion IV a few months back. The shoe has a bold look with some classic Cement flavor, making a lot of folks wish that a version of the Air Jordan IV would drop in this colorway instead. As nice as that would be, this edition offers a very serviceable alternative. In addition to the Varsity Red colorway, there will also be a Varsity Royal version that uses the same color blocking and Cement Grey accents. The release info on these went quietly under the radar and now they have just hit Nikestore, so if you’re prepared to make a Fusion exception for these, you’d better scoop up a pair before they’re gone.

MJ’s Jumpman “Flight” logo is stitched onto the tongue. The Air Jordan Fusion IV (4) Black/Red is scheduled to hit sneaker shops nationwide on August 29 for $145.

Nike Air Griffey Max 1 Black/White/Hot Red – Available Now

The Nike Air Griffey Max 1 in the Black/White/Hot Red colorway is now available at the New York City House of Hoops. As for all the other Footlockere House of Hoops locations across the United States, expect to see these arriving on shelves this week. As for other local retailers, expect to see these on shelves within the next few weeks if not sooner.

A Bathing Ape x CASIO G-SHOCK DW-6900

The latest incarnation of the A Bathing Ape x CASIO G-SHOCK collection of watches will release this weekend as it features the classic DW-6900 model. The chunky rounded model features a black body with a mutli-colored rainbow print to mark the “G-SHOCK” logo on the top of the dial. In addition to being available on August 23rd, 2009 at BAPE STORES look for it to hit online as well.
